Pakhuis Oosthavenkade, Vlaardingen
This former warehouse on the Oosthavenkade must have been built at the end of the 19th century by Paul Kikkert and is a copy of the demolished Twin Kikkers warehouse. This warehouse was used in the recent decades as fishing equipment shop. The previous owner introduced a mezzanine of 4 to 9 meters in the middle of the building. This caused the replacement of a lot of the original wooden column construction by a steel frame. The hood is supported by a Philibert truss structure.
Alongside proposals for the required building and structural upgrades, a design was developed to adapt the municipal heritage building for residential use.
